Learning Support Assistant – 1:1 SEN Support

A warm and inclusive primary school in Shoreham is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs within their mainstream classroom.

The Role

This is a truly rewarding position where you’ll support one child throughout their school day, helping them feel confident, secure, and ready to learn. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the pupil can take part in lessons, develop their independence, and experience success in the classroom.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:

Providing 1:1 support during lessons and school activities
Helping the pupil access learning through tailored strategies
Encouraging social interaction and emotional regulation
Supporting routines that help build confidence and consistency
Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is:

Caring, patient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children
Confident building a strong, positive relationship with one child
Able to follow guidance and adapt to daily needs
Reliable and ready to be an important part of the classroom team
Experienced in SEN support (desirable but not essential)
