We are currently seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join schools across the Bromley area for an immediate start.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant experience working with children who have SEND and SEMH needs.
You will be supporting pupils within a classroom environment, helping them to access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Support children with a range of SEND and SEMH needs.
Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
Work alongside the class teacher and wider support team.
Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
Support children with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
Adapt your approach to meet individual children’s needs.
Support pupils across KS1 and KS2.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Experience working with children or young people.
Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, behavioural or additional needs.
A patient, calm and nurturing approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build positive relationships with children.
A proactive and flexible approach to supporting pupils.
A genuine passion for helping children succeed.
The ability to work effectively as part of a school team.
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant or Youth Worker would be advantageous.
