We are looking for a confident and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join a fantastic SEND school in Burgess Hill, working within the older side of the school with boys aged 15–18.
You will be supporting young people with a range of additional needs, with the majority of pupils presenting with Level 3 autism and complex support needs. The role is rewarding and varied, and would suit someone who is passionate about helping young people develop their confidence, communication, independence and life skills.
Providing 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day.
Supporting students with autism across a range of abilities and needs.
Helping pupils develop independence, communication and life skills.
Supporting students with their learning and engagement in lessons.
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
Managing and responding confidently to behaviours that may challenge.
Following individual support plans and adapting your approach to each student.
Working closely with teachers and the wider SEND team.
You must have previous experience working with autism and be confident supporting young people across all levels of the autism spectrum, including individuals with more complex and high-support needs.

Confident and calm when supporting challenging or unpredictable behaviour.

Able to adapt communication and support to individual needs.
