Learning Support Assistant (Part-Time) – Battle Area

Key Details:

  • Location: Battle, East Sussex

  • Hours: 30 hours per week (term time only, plus occasional training days)

  • Start Date: September 2025 or earlier by mutual agreement

  • Reporting To: SENCo / Head of Learning Support


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students (mostly 1:1 or in small groups) with accessing learning in a calm, respectful, and encouraging way

  • Helping pupils develop independent learning skills and self-confidence

  • Working closely with teachers to adapt classroom materials and approaches to meet individual needs

  • Acting as a key link between school, home, and (where relevant) external professionals for the students you support

  • Promoting inclusion and celebrating the progress—big and small—of every learner you work with


We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with young people (ideally in a school or educational setting)

  • Is patient, understanding, and able to build strong, positive relationships with students

  • Is confident using basic IT (Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, etc.)

  • Holds a good level of Maths and English (GCSE or equivalent preferred)

  • Can work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a caring school culture

  • Brings energy, positivity, and a calm presence to the classroom and wider school
