We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Horsham, supporting primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, mental health, and neurodiverse needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping to build confidence, emotional regulation, engagement, and positive learning behaviours within a structured and therapeutic environment.

The role will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting pupils to access learning activities across the curriculum
  • Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and social development
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement within the classroom
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and communication difficulties
  • Working collaboratively with teaching, pastoral, and therapy teams

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Ideally experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, or neurodiverse needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
