Learning Support Assistant – SEMH School in Worthing

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)

We are currently recruiting a calm, patient, and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in the Worthing area. This role involves providing 1:2:1 support for a 15-year-old girl, helping her to engage with learning and manage social, emotional, and behavioural needs within a structured and supportive environment.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to provide consistent, individualised support. You will play a key role in helping the student feel safe, regulated, and supported throughout the school day, adapting your approach to meet her emotional and learning needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs

  • Confidence providing 1:2:1 support

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Resilience and the ability to remain composed in challenging situations
