  • Monday: 8:30am–5:00pm

  • Tuesday–Friday: 8:30am–4:00pm
    Requirement: Driver essential due to rural school location

We are currently recruiting a calm, patient, and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school supporting secondary-aged pupils in the Horsham area. This full-time, temporary role involves working with young people aged 11–16 who present with social, emotional, and mental health needs within a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students regulate their emotions, re-engage with education, and build confidence both academically and socially. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to provide consistent, individualised support, adapting strategies to meet each student’s emotional, behavioural, and learning needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills

  • Confidence supporting pupils in classroom and small group settings

  • A proactive, resilient, and compassionate attitude

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
