 Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – SEND School
 
Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent
Hours: Full-time, Term Time
Start Date: As soon as possible (or negotiable)

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist SEND school in Tunbridge Wells, working full time with children in small group settings.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or additional needs who is passionate about helping pupils thrive in a nurturing and structured environment.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Support children with a range of SEN, including learning, communication, social, and emotional needs
  • Work with pupils in small groups, supporting learning activities planned by the teacher
  • Help adapt lessons to ensure all children can access learning
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
  • Support pupils’ emotional and social development
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to meet individual needs
  • Contribute to a safe, calm, and inclusive school environment

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has some experience working with children with SEN or additional needs (school, nursery, care, youth work, or similar settings)
  • Is patient, kind, and adaptable
  • Has good communication and teamwork skills
  • Is committed to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
  • Can work reliably in a full-time role

Experience in a SEND school is desirable but not essential—training and ongoing support will be provided.
