Learning Support Mentor – Croydon – Immediate Start

Location: Croydon, South London
Salary: £100–£120 per day
Job Type: Full-time, term-time only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Start Date: Immediate

We are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Mentor to join a supportive school in Croydon on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children or young people with Autism, ADHD, SEND and challenging behaviour.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Mentor, you will work closely with pupils to support their learning, behaviour and personal development. The role will involve a mixture of 1:1 support, small group work and targeted interventions.

You will help pupils overcome barriers to learning, manage their behaviour and develop confidence and independence within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 learning and behavioural support

  • Supporting pupils in small group settings

  • Delivering and supporting targeted learning and behavioural interventions

  • Supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD and additional learning needs

  • Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviour

  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

  • Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate in school life

  • Working closely with teachers and the wider support team

  • Following individual learning, behaviour and support plans

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with children or young people in a school, SEND, education, care or support setting.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour

  • Patient, calm and consistent

  • Experienced or confident supporting children with Autism and ADHD

  • Comfortable providing 1:1 and small group support

  • Able to build positive relationships with young people

  • Reliable, proactive and enthusiastic

  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs

  • Able to work effectively as part of a team

Relevant experience is highly desirable, although candidates with transferable experience and the right attitude will also be considered.

Pay & Holiday Pay

The advertised daily rate is inclusive of 12.07% PAYE holiday pay.
