About the Role

This is a long-term supply role, offering consistency and the chance to make a meaningful impact within the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning, while also taking on responsibilities aligned with a Level 3 qualification.

The role may include leading small group interventions and providing targeted support to pupils, including those with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities

Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
Lead small group interventions to support pupil progress
Provide 1:1 support, including for pupils with SEND
Assist with planning and preparation of learning activities and resources
Promote positive behaviour management in line with school policies
Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support staff

Requirements

Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential
Previous experience working within a UK primary school
Confident supporting learning across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach
Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable

Experience supporting pupils with SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, SEMH)
Experience delivering interventions (phonics, literacy, numeracy)
Good understanding of the UK primary curriculum
