About the Role

This is a long-term supply opportunity, offering consistency and the chance to become an integral part of the school community. The role is expected to continue on an ongoing basis, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

You will work closely with the class teacher to support learning, lead small group work, and provide targeted support to pupils, including those with additional needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Lead small group interventions in areas such as phonics, literacy, and numeracy
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils, including those with SEND
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and organisation of classroom activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a supportive learning environment
  • Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support staff

Requirements

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential
  • Previous experience working within a UK primary school
  • Confident supporting learning across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, reliable, and committed approach
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, SEMH)
  • Experience delivering targeted interventions
  • Good understanding of the UK primary curriculum
