Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Full-time Math Teacher who is proficient in mathematics instruction, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education and a passion for creating an inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mathematics Instruction:
    • Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned mathematics curriculum for assigned grade levels
    • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students
    • Incorporate technology and hands-on activities to enhance student understanding of mathematical concepts
    • Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback to students and parents
    • Collaborate with other math teachers to ensure curriculum continuity and share best practices
    • Stay current with developments in mathematics education and integrate new methodologies as appropriate
  • SEND Support:
    • Identify and assess students with special educational needs in mathematics
    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND
    • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
    • Collaborate with the SEND coordinator and other specialists to ensure appropriate support for students
    • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction for students requiring additional support
    • Monitor and document progress of students with SEND, adjusting strategies as needed
  • SEMH Support:
    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being
    • Implement strategies to support students’ social and emotional development
    • Recognize and address signs of mental health concerns in students
    • Collaborate with school counselors and mental health professionals to provide appropriate support
    • Incorporate mindfulness and stress-reduction techniques into mathematics lessons
    • Foster a growth mindset and resilience in students facing mathematical challenges
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress
    • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and well-being
    • Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events
    • Supervise students during non-classroom times (e.g., lunch duty, field trips)
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives and policies
    • Serve as a positive role model for students and promote a culture of respect and inclusivity
