We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and reliable Mental Health Support Assistants to join our growing team in the Burgess Hill area. This rewarding role involves supporting individuals with mental health needs to live independently, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals within the community and supported living environments.
As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in promoting wellbeing, independence, dignity, and social inclusion while providing person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
Provide practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Assist service users with daily living activities, including household tasks, budgeting, meal preparation, and attending appointments.
Encourage and support individuals to develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
Promote positive mental health and wellbeing through engagement in meaningful activities.
Maintain accurate records and complete relevant documentation.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies.
Follow care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Support individuals in accessing community resources, education, employment, and recreational opportunities.
A caring, empathetic, and professional approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
A genuine passion for supporting people with mental health needs.
Previous experience in mental health, care, support work, or a related field is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays where required.
A full UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential.
