SEMH Teaching Assistant (1:1) – Full-time – Start ASAP – Lewes, East Sussex

Pink Tile Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for our client, a fantastic, forward-thinking & ambitious special school in Lewes. The pupil community is diverse & spans KS3 to KS4. You will support the team in providing an opportunity for these young people to re-engage and enjoy the core curriculum, as well as other activities.

This is a long-term, ongoing placement with a view to make permanent for the right candidate.

£72 per day minimum (£11.07 per hour).

Requirements

Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain one
Resilience
Understanding of vulnerable young people & how to approach sensitive situations
Able to adapt to the different needs of each student
Confident working with children & young people in SEN/SEMH
Experience working with children & young people (desired)
Experience working with children & young people in SEN (desired)

Responsibilities

Support class teacher
Support the pupils with their tasks/activities & wellbeing
Understand individual needs of each student & adapt approach accordingly
