Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Full-time Nursery Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our nursery and contributing to the overall development and well-being of the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and learning experiences for children aged 0-5 years
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow
- Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Observe and assess children’s progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Collaborate with lead practitioners and other team members to ensure consistent and high-quality care
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized learning environment
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and nursery policies
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and daily activities
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and personal care routines
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play activities
- Support children with special educational needs and disabilities
- Contribute to the planning and execution of special events and celebrations
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proficiency in Nursery Level 1 and 2 qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- Strong understanding of child development and early years education
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Clear DBS check
- Physical ability to lift and carry children and equipment as needed
