Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Full-time Nursery Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our nursery and contributing to the overall development and well-being of the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and learning experiences for children aged 0-5 years
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow
• Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
• Observe and assess children’s progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Collaborate with lead practitioners and other team members to ensure consistent and high-quality care
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized learning environment
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and nursery policies
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child’s progress and daily activities
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and personal care routines
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play activities
• Support children with special educational needs and disabilities
• Contribute to the planning and execution of special events and celebrations

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proficiency in Nursery Level 1 and 2 qualifications
• Minimum of 1 year experience working in a nursery or early years setting
• Strong understanding of child development and early years education
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Clear DBS check
• Physical ability to lift and carry children and equipment as needed
