Occupational Therapist (Band 6) – SEMH School

Monday to Friday | Term Time Only | Term to Perm Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a specialist SEMH school in West Drayton, supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team, using your clinical expertise to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential within a nurturing educational environment.

The Role:

  • Providing occupational therapy assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions
  • Supporting pupils with sensory processing, motor skills, emotional regulation, and functional independence
  • Developing and reviewing individual therapy programmes and contributing to EHCPs
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, families, and external professionals
  • Advising school staff on strategies to support pupils’ sensory and therapeutic needs within the classroom
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with professional standards

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the HCPC
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH, SEND, autism, or complex needs
  • Strong understanding of sensory integration and occupation-centred practice
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills
  • Compassionate, proactive, and committed to improving outcomes for young people
  • Previous Band 6 experience or equivalent is desirable
