A secondary school in Gillingham, Kent is seeking a dedicated and highly organised Pastoral Support Coordinator to join its supportive and forward-thinking team from September 2025. Role Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality pastoral support to students across the school
Promote a safe and supportive learning environment through proactive pastoral care
Liaise with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to support student wellbeing
Support the implementation of behaviour and attendance policies
Assist in the delivery of pastoral interventions and mentoring programmes
Monitor and track student welfare and engagement, maintaining accurate records
Contribute to safeguarding processes in line with school policy
Uphold school values and promote a positive school culture
Contract Details:
Full time, fixed term for one academic year
Term Time + 1 week
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday (30-minute unpaid break daily)
NJC pay scale C1, points 6–19 (FTE: £25,183 – £31,067)
Actual salary (pro rata): £21,660 – £26,721 per annum
Requirements:
Previous experience in a pastoral, educational, or student support role preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism
Committed to supporting the welfare and progress of young people
Must have a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one
