Pink Tile Education is recruiting for a fantastic specialist SEND/SEMH school in the Tunbridge Wells area seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Outdoors & PE Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is a unique opportunity to combine physical education, outdoor learning and relationship-based teaching within a nurturing specialist setting supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, ADHD and associated additional needs.

The Role
You will be responsible for delivering a varied programme of PE, outdoor education and enrichment activities designed to engage pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream education.
The successful candidate will be passionate about sport, physical activity and outdoor learning, with the ability to build strong relationships and inspire pupils to achieve both personally and academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging PE lessons to primary and secondary-aged pupils.
- Plan and lead outdoor learning activities and enrichment sessions.
- Promote physical wellbeing, teamwork, resilience and confidence.
- Adapt learning and activities to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs.
- Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and senior leaders.
- Track pupil progress and contribute to EHCP outcomes where required.
- Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
- Encourage participation, achievement and positive engagement across all activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
- QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification desirable.
- Experienced Unqualified Teachers with relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience working with SEND, SEMH, Alternative Provision or vulnerable young people.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- Passion for PE, sport, outdoor learning or adventurous activities.
- Ability to engage and motivate pupils with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Resilient, adaptable and proactive approach.
Desirable Experience
- Outdoor education, forest school, bushcraft or adventurous activity experience.
- Youth work, residential childcare or sports coaching background.
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD or SEMH needs.
- Alternative Provision or PRU experience.
- Team Teach, PRICE or positive behaviour support training.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
