Overview:
Pink Tile Education is supporting a secondary school in the Emsworth area in their search for a reliable and proactive Premises Assistant / Maintenance & Caretaker to join their site team for the summer period.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical maintenance experience who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented environment. Working throughout the summer break, the successful candidate will support a variety of site improvement, maintenance, and repair projects to help prepare the school for the new academic year.

Role Responsibilities:

• Carry out a range of general maintenance and repair tasks across the school site.

• Assist with painting, decorating, and site improvement projects.

• Repair or replace fixtures and fittings, including toilet seats, taps, and other basic facilities.

• Support with minor building and maintenance works as required.

• Assist with furniture moving, room preparation, and general site organisation.

• Support potential refurbishment projects, including assisting with the removal of internal stud walls where appropriate.

• Conduct routine site checks and report any maintenance concerns.

• Help maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment throughout the school premises.

• Work independently and as part of the wider site team to complete tasks efficiently.

• Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in maintenance, caretaking, facilities, construction, or a similar hands-on role.

• Practical DIY and general repair skills.

• Reliable, hardworking, and able to use initiative.

• Comfortable carrying out physical work throughout the school site.

• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Flexible and willing to support a variety of maintenance projects.

• Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one prior to starting.
