Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with SEND, SEMH, Autism and challenging behaviour?

We are currently recruiting for a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, resilient and dedicated individual who wants to make a positive difference to children’s lives and education.

About the Role

As a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to support learning, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.

The role may involve supporting pupils with:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • SEND and additional learning needs
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Emotional regulation difficulties
  • Communication and interaction needs
  • Behavioural and social difficulties

You will help pupils engage with their learning, develop their confidence and build positive relationships within the school environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience supporting SEND, SEMH, Autism or challenging behaviour is highly advantageous
  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • A resilient and positive attitude
  • A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Support Worker, Youth Worker or similar would be beneficial.

Pay & Holiday Pay

The pay stated is inclusive of the additional 12.07% PAYE holiday pay.
