Are you passionate about supporting primary-aged children with SEND and SEMH needs?
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and resilient Primary Teaching Assistant – SEND/SEMH to join a supportive school in the Bromley area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is confident supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, challenging behaviour and a range of additional needs.
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide tailored support to pupils who require additional help with their learning, behaviour, communication and emotional development.
You may provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping children access the curriculum and participate positively in school life.
The role will involve supporting children with a range of needs, including:
You will play an important role in helping children overcome barriers to learning while developing their confidence, independence, social skills and emotional regulation.
We are looking for someone who is patient, caring, resilient and enthusiastic about working with children who require additional support.
Previous experience working with SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD or challenging behaviour is desirable. Experience within a primary school, SEN setting, nursery, childcare, youth work, residential care or support work would also be beneficial.
You may already be an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Worker, or you may be looking to start or develop your career within education.
Most importantly, you will have the ability to build positive relationships, remain calm under pressure and provide consistent support to children who may find aspects of school challenging.
