Are you a compassionate and dedicated teacher who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Primary SEND Teacher to join our specialist setting in Worthing on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who require a highly personalised approach to learning and who benefit from a nurturing, structured, and supportive educational environment.
You will play a key role in helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally, enabling them to achieve their individual potential and celebrate success at every stage of their learning journey.
As a Primary SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and other professionals, you will help deliver personalised learning programmes that support both educational progress and personal development.
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching primary-aged children
Has a strong understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching practices
Can adapt learning to meet a wide range of abilities and needs
Builds positive and trusting relationships with pupils and families
Is patient, nurturing, and resilient
Has strong classroom management skills and high expectations for all learners
Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience working with pupils with Autism, communication needs, ADHD, learning difficulties, or complex needs would be advantageous but is not essential.
Main Pay Scale salary
A fixed-term maternity cover contract for approximately 12 months
