As a Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant, you will support primary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you will help pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Based in Chichester.
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.
£100 per day.
September start.

This specialist alternative provision in Chichester provides education for primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs. Pupils are taught in small classes with a teacher and additional support staff, allowing each child to receive personalised support and build positive relationships with trusted adults.
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils regulate their emotions, develop confidence and re-engage with learning.
Support pupils with SEMH and additional behavioural needs.
Build strong, trusting relationships with children.
Help pupils regulate their emotions using a calm and consistent approach.
Manage challenging and dysregulated behaviour positively and professionally.
Work closely with teachers and other Learning Support Assistants to deliver engaging learning activities.
Encourage pupils’ social, emotional and academic development throughout the school day.
Has experience supporting individuals with mental health needs.
Is confident managing challenging behaviour and emotionally dysregulated pupils.
Can build excellent rapport with children and young people.
Is patient, resilient and passionate about supporting vulnerable learners.
Has previous experience working with children (desirable but not essential).
