Primary Supply Teacher – Flexible Working

Primary schools in the Hastings area require consistent and dependable teaching support to cover staff absence on both a short-term and long-term basis. This is a practical, hands-on role suited to teachers who can integrate quickly into different school environments and keep learning on track.

You may be in a different classroom week to week, or remain in one setting for a longer placement. In either case, the focus is the same: deliver clear teaching, maintain order, and ensure pupils continue to progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for a class in the teacher’s absence
  • Deliver pre-set work or plan lessons where required
  • Maintain behaviour standards and follow school policies
  • Adapt to different year groups and classroom expectations
  • Provide continuity during periods of staff absence

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous UK classroom experience
  • Right to work in the UK
  • DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

The Opportunity:

  • Day-to-day and longer-term assignments available
  • Work across a range of local primary schools
  • Flexibility to choose when and where you work
  • Opportunity to build ongoing relationships with schools

This role would suit a teacher who is organised, adaptable, and comfortable stepping into new situations with minimal notice.

If you are looking for flexible teaching work in the Hastings area and can provide reliable classroom cover, submit your application to be considered.
