Residential Childcare Worker (Therapeutic Support) – Brighton

Are you a caring and resilient person looking for flexible work supporting children and young people? We’re seeking Bank Residential Childcare Workers to join a therapeutic residential setting in Brighton. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in trauma-informed residential childcare, supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality care and emotional support to children with complex needs.

• Help create a safe, nurturing, and homely environment.

• Support children’s education, routines, and positive development.

• Encourage healthy relationships and positive behaviour.

• Assist with household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and daily activities.

• Maintain accurate records and follow care plans.

• Work collaboratively as part of a supportive, reflective team.

Requirements:

• Experience (paid or voluntary) working with children, young people, or vulnerable groups.

• Understanding of trauma, attachment, and therapeutic approaches to care.

• Good communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends

• (Desirable) Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, and/or a full UK driving licence.

Comprehensive training and support are provided, with opportunities for ongoing professional development.

All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is preferred.
