Are you a passionate and resilient educator looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Portsmouth from September. Applications are welcomed from teachers of all subject specialisms, particularly those with experience of supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced SEMH practitioners and teachers from mainstream settings who are looking for a rewarding and impactful role.

The Role

You will work with young people who require additional support to engage successfully with education, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally. The successful candidate will be committed to building positive relationships, creating engaging learning experiences and supporting students to reach their full potential.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has teaching experience within secondary education, alternative provision or specialist settings.
  • Demonstrates excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Can engage and motivate students who may present with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
  • Is adaptable, patient and committed to inclusive education.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a wider team.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong teaching skills and subject knowledge.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
  • The ability to foster a positive and nurturing learning environment.

QTS is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from unqualified teachers with relevant experience and a strong desire to make a difference.
