SEMH Learning Support Assistant – Farnborough

£14.25 per hour | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:00pm | Long-Term Opportunity

There are schools… and then there are schools that genuinely change the trajectory of a child’s life.

We are working closely with a specialist SEND setting in Farnborough that supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and they are looking for Learning Support Assistants who can bring patience, resilience, and consistency into the classroom.

This is not a “sit at the back and observe” kind of role.
This is hands-on, relationship-driven, and incredibly rewarding.

What the role looks like:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Working with children who may present with challenging behaviour, trauma backgrounds, or emotional dysregulation

  • Helping pupils engage with learning in a way that works for them

  • Using a calm, consistent and restorative approach

  • Being a safe, reliable adult in the classroom

The school:

This is a well-established SEND provision with a strong reputation locally for the way they support both pupils and their staff.

You’ll be joining a team that:

  • Understands SEMH and does things properly

  • Supports staff with training and guidance

  • Values consistency, structure and positive behaviour approaches

  • Works together — no one is left to “figure it out” alone

We’re looking for people who:

  • Have experience with SEMH, behaviour, or SEND (schools, care, youth work, support work – all relevant)

  • Are confident, calm, and able to hold boundaries in a positive way

  • Understand that behaviour is communication

  • Can build trust and rapport with pupils who may find school difficult

  • Are reliable and committed to long-term work

What you’ll get:

  • £14.25 per hour

  • Consistent hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm

  • Long-term opportunity with potential to become permanent

  • Ongoing support from a team that actually understands SEND

  • The chance to make a real difference every single day

If you’re someone who thrives in a role where no two days are the same, and you want to be part of a school that genuinely supports its pupils — we’d love to hear from you.
