Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking specialist provision in Worthing. This is an exciting opportunity to work with secondary-aged students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are working significantly below age-related academic expectations.
The successful candidate will be committed to building positive relationships, raising aspirations, and helping students develop both academically and personally in a nurturing and structured environment.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Many pupils have experienced disrupted education and require a highly personalised approach to learning, alongside consistent emotional support and behaviour management.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will help students develop confidence, resilience, independence, and the skills needed for future success.
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching secondary-aged students
Understands the challenges faced by pupils with SEMH needs
Can adapt learning to meet a wide range of abilities and learning profiles
Builds strong, trusting relationships with young people
Has excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Is patient, resilient, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for every student
Works effectively as part of a collaborative team
