The school caters for secondary pupils with challenging behaviour, using excellent strategies and methods for de-escalation.
 
The Role:
  • To assist the Class Teacher or Subject Teacher in the teaching and learning in the classroom.
  • Whilst previous experience of working in a TA role would be desirable, excellent teaching skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. We need people who share the vision to build incredible futures by empowering young people.
  • Confidence – resilience is key in this challenging but rewarding role with behaviour.

  • Core hours: 0845 – 1600 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 0845 – 1630 on Wednesday and 0845 – 1530 on Friday.
  • £85 per day
  • Long-term, term time only. Temp to Perm (12 weeks probation)
  • Due to the beautiful but rural location of the school, applicants are advised that they would need access to a vehicle to reach the school.
Responsibilities:
• Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible and with whom you come into
contact.
• If designated to a particular child, work mainly with that child and liaise with the teacher as to what work or play the child should do.
• In liaison with the teacher, assist any child he/she sees as needing help at any time.
• Be general support for behaviour Management.
• Assist the teacher in classroom tasks, including keeping the classroom clean and in good order.
• With the teacher’s direction, accompany any child who leaves the classroom.
• Advise staff if a student is out of class.
• Assist the students before school, during breaks and at lunchtime.
• The Teaching Assistant will make themselves familiar with all school policies, rules, health & safety and legal requirements and will work in accordance with them.
• Assist with the preparation and upkeep of paperwork for lessons.
• Be available to take students to a local college or off-site activity, driving the school van or own car if necessary.
