We are currently recruiting a calm, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in the Burgess Hill area. This full-time, ongoing role involves supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs within a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff, providing consistent, individualised support and adapting your approach to meet each student’s emotional, behavioural, and learning needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills

  • Confidence supporting pupils within the classroom

  • A proactive, resilient, and compassionate attitude
