Contract: Full Time | Term Time Only | Monday-Friday

A welcoming and well-established primary school in the centre of Horsham is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their expanding inclusion team.

This vibrant three-form entry school has built an excellent reputation for supporting children with additional needs and creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. With a growing number of pupils requiring additional support, the school is seeking someone who is patient, enthusiastic and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

You will work closely with children across EYFS and Key Stage 1 who have a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs and moderate learning difficulties.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND
• Run targeted literacy, phonics and numeracy interventions
• Support children with EHCPs throughout the school day
• Help pupils regulate emotions and develop social skills
• Work alongside teachers, therapists and the SENCO
• Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs
• Support transitions between lessons and breaktimes
• Encourage independence and confidence

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with children
• A caring, patient and resilient nature
• Strong communication skills
• An interest in special educational needs and inclusion
• Knowledge of autism or ADHD would be beneficial
• Teaching Assistant qualifications welcomed but not essential
