A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Brighton is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team from September.

This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a Key Stage 2 pupil with Autism and associated learning needs. The pupil is a bright and engaging child who benefits from structure, consistency, and positive relationships. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping them access learning, develop confidence, and navigate the school day successfully.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Supporting classroom engagement and participation
• Implementing strategies recommended by the SENDCo
• Encouraging social interaction and independence
• Monitoring and recording progress against targets
• Working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence managing occasional dysregulation
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential
