A lovely mainstream primary school in West Ashling is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with complex behavioural needs. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a nurturing environment and is passionate about helping children thrive.


👶 About the Role

  • Supporting a child throughout the school day to access learning and routines
  • Helping the child manage emotions, transitions, and social interactions
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow personalised strategies
  • Using positive reinforcement, clear boundaries, and calm communication
  • Creating a safe and supportive space for learning and growth

🙌 What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children with behavioural or emotional needs
  • A calm, consistent and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine interest in child development and inclusive education
  • Reliability and a willingness to learn

🎓 Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience in EYFS or KS1
  • Knowledge of behaviour support strategies or trauma-informed practice
  • Relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, safeguarding, SEMH awareness)
