Are you a passionate and dedicated SENCO looking for a rewarding part-time opportunity? We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Coordinator to join our welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Shoreham-by-Sea.

The Role

As SENCO, you will lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school, supporting pupils with a wide range of needs and ensuring they receive the highest quality support and intervention.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
• Identifying and supporting pupils with additional needs
• Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies
• Monitoring progress and ensuring effective provision is in place
• Supporting staff through advice, training, and coaching
• Managing Annual Reviews and EHCP processes
• Ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and best practice is embedded throughout the school

What We’re Looking For

We would love to hear from candidates who:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have previous SENCO experience within a primary school setting
• Hold the NASENCO qualification or are willing to work towards it
• Have an excellent understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
• Are passionate about inclusion and achieving positive outcomes for all children
• Have strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
• Enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
