SEND Learning Support Assistant – Chichester

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Chichester, working with children and young people aged 2–19.

Previous experience working with SEND is essential for this role. You will provide learning and pastoral support to pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them engage with learning, build confidence and develop their independence.

THE ROLE

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils aged 2–19.
• Support children with a range of SEND and additional needs.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning.
• Encourage pupils’ confidence, communication and independence.
• Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Build strong and positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Follow individual support, learning and behaviour plans where required.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous SEND/SEN experience – essential
• Experience working with children or young people.
• A patient, caring and understanding approach.
• The ability to support pupils with varying needs and abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for helping children and young people achieve their potential.
