Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance, depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent


About the School:

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced primary SEND school in Crawley, dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. The school is known for its strong leadership, supportive staff team, and commitment to delivering high-quality education tailored to individual needs.


The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary SEND Teacher to join the team from September 2025. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and personalised lessons to a small group of primary-aged pupils with complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in line with pupils’ EHCPs.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence, confidence, and progress.

  • Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and therapists to support each pupil’s learning and development.

  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and external professionals.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in relevant training and CPD opportunities.


Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Experience teaching primary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEND setting.

  • A strong understanding of a range of special educational needs and effective teaching strategies.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to teaching.
