We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced primary SEND school in Crawley, dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary SEND Teacher to join the team from September 2025. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and personalised lessons to a small group of primary-aged pupils with complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), speech and language difficulties, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in line with pupils’ EHCPs.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence, confidence, and progress.
Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and therapists to support each pupil’s learning and development.
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and external professionals.
Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in relevant training and CPD opportunities.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching primary-aged pupils, ideally within an SEND setting.
A strong understanding of a range of special educational needs and effective teaching strategies.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to teaching.
Paid to scale, with SEN allowance as applicable.
