A specialist school in Waterlooville is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEND Support Assistant to support pupils with Autism, severe learning difficulties, communication needs, and physical disabilities.

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff, you will support students both 1:1 and in small groups to access learning, develop confidence, and build independence within a nurturing and therapeutic environment.

The role will include:

  • Supporting communication, interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Assisting within sensory learning environments
  • Supporting daily routines and personal care where required
  • Working collaboratively with therapists and specialist staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children, care settings, or vulnerable individuals
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Confidence supporting complex needs and personal care
  • A genuine passion for SEND education
