Are you a passionate and resilient teacher looking to make a lasting difference to the lives of young people?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH Teacher to join our specialist provision in Worthing on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This rewarding role involves working with secondary-aged students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are working below age-related academic expectations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to supporting vulnerable young people, helping them overcome barriers to learning, and enabling them to achieve both academically and personally.
As a member of our dedicated teaching team, you will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will create a safe, supportive learning environment where pupils can develop confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards education.
Many of our students have experienced challenges that have impacted their learning journey. We are therefore looking for a teacher who can build strong relationships, maintain high expectations, and provide the consistency and encouragement needed to help every pupil succeed.
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has experience teaching secondary-aged students
Understands the needs of pupils with SEMH and additional barriers to learning
Can deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to a range of abilities
Has excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
Is patient, adaptable, and resilient
Is committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
Works effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Main Pay Scale salary
A fixed-term maternity cover contract for approximately 12 months
