Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs to achieve their potential?

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Cosham that supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated communication and learning needs. The school provides highly structured learning environments where children are supported through personalised timetables, sensory strategies and tailored interventions.

The pupils are enthusiastic learners who benefit from consistency, patience and positive role models. Staff work collaboratively to help children develop confidence, independence, communication skills and emotional regulation.

This role would suit someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships with pupils and celebrating the small milestones that make a huge difference to their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Assisting children with communication and social interaction
• Implementing individual learning and behaviour support plans
• Supporting sensory regulation throughout the school day
• Encouraging independence both inside and outside the classroom
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
• An understanding of Autism and additional learning needs
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
• Strong communication skills
• A genuine passion for helping children succeed
