Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:45am – 3:15pm
Friday: 8:45am – 2:00pm
Pay: £89 per day
We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school catering for pupils aged 2 to 16 with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. These include complex needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and pupils who can present with challenging behaviour.
You will work closely with class teachers and support staff to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment tailored to each child’s needs.
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, adapting learning to individual EHCP targets
Assist in delivering a differentiated and sensory-based curriculum
Implement behaviour support strategies effectively, maintaining a calm and positive approach
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Support personal care and mobility routines where needed
Foster independence and confidence in all learners
Maintain a safe and inclusive environment at all times
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (desired but not essential)
A calm, patient, and resilient attitude
Good communication and teamwork skills
A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one
Availability to work full-time from after May half-term until the end of the academic year
