SEND Teaching Assistant

An outstanding secondary school in Crawley is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from April 2025. This is a full-time role, offering a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Role Details:

  • Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Start Date: April 2025
  • Location: Crawley
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM start
  • Pay Rate: £84 per day
  • Requirements:
    • A minimum of 2 months’ experience working with SEND learners.
    • Experience supporting children or young people, ideally in an educational setting.
    • A DBS on the update service.
    • Up-to-date safeguarding training.

What Does the Role Involve?
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and education of students with additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to SEND students, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Assisting in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting resources to meet the needs of each student.
  • Supporting the classroom teacher in managing behavior and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Building positive relationships with students, helping to boost their confidence and engagement in learning.
  • Working collaboratively with the SEND team and other staff members to ensure all students receive the necessary support.
