Teaching Assistant (SEND) – Chichester

Location: Chichester, West Sussex

Hours: 08:30 AM – 03:30 PM, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only

Start Date: ASAP (supply cover and part-time options may be possible)

Salary: £89 per day PAYE, temp to perm

We’re seeking a nurturing Teaching Assistant to support children with SEND in a welcoming Chichester primary. If you’re patient, adaptable and excited to support individual learning journeys, this role could be for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with a range of SEND needs in class and in small group interventions.

• Implement individual support plans and help adapt resources to meet needs.

• Support independence and access to the curriculum through scaffolding and prompts.

• Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to the class teacher and SENCO.

• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

Skills & Experience / What We’re Looking For:

• Experience with SEND desirable but not essential; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key.

• Transferable skills: patience, adaptability, observational skills, teamwork, confidentiality.

• Good literacy and numeracy skills and ability to support learning activities.

• Calm and consistent approach to behaviour management.
