About the Role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive school community in Brighton. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting a child with special educational needs (SEND) to reach their full potential — both academically and emotionally.

You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored 1:1 support, helping the pupil engage in learning, develop confidence, and build essential life skills. Every day will bring new rewards as you help them overcome challenges and celebrate their progress.

Your Responsibilities

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive self-esteem

  • Adapting learning materials to suit individual needs and abilities

  • Supporting the development of communication and social skills

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent progress

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs

  • Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff

  • Adaptable, calm, and creative in your approach to learning support

  • Experienced in working with children with SEND (desirable, but not essential — full training provided)

What We Offer

  • A welcoming and supportive school environment where every member of staff is valued

  • Opportunities for both full-time and part-time positions

  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities

  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey
