π¦ Role: 1:1 Support for a Child with Special Educational Needs
We’re seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and inclusive school in Lewes. This role offers the chance to make a real impact — supporting a child with special educational needs (SEND) to achieve their best academically, socially, and emotionally.
Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO, you’ll provide dedicated 1:1 support, helping the pupil to engage in learning, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. Every day brings opportunities to make a meaningful difference.
Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive self-esteem
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
Support communication and social development
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote progress

Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues
Calm, adaptable, and creative in your approach
Experienced in supporting children with SEND (experience helpful, but full training provided)
