Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT)

Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £26,740 – £26,741.40 per year
Contract: Permanent, Part-time
Hours: 3 days per week
Start Date: September 2026

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join an expanding therapy team within a specialist school in Horsham.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about social communication, neurodiversity and supporting young people with speech, language and communication needs.

About the Role

You will work as part of a supportive and collaborative therapy team, delivering a mixture of individual and group interventions alongside working directly within the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering SaLT-led social communication groups

  • Running LEGO®-Based Therapy sessions

  • Providing 1:1 interventions for speech, language and communication needs

  • Completing assessments and reports

  • Contributing to EHCP input and progress reviews

  • Working closely with teaching and support staff

  • Supporting the development of communication-friendly classrooms

  • Contributing to service development and creative therapeutic approaches

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Be HCPC registered as a Speech and Language Therapist

  • Be a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)

  • Have completed RCSLT Qualified Practitioner competencies

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience as a SaLT

  • Have an interest in social communication, neurodiversity and/or ASD

  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Be organised, proactive and committed to improving outcomes for young people

  • Be passionate about supporting pupil wellbeing and development
