Young people are often capable of far more than they realise. Sometimes they simply need someone to help them unlock that potential.

An inclusive Portsmouth school is looking to appoint a Student Resilience & SEND Mentor to support pupils requiring additional assistance with learning, emotional wellbeing and school engagement.

The school is seeking someone who can build positive working relationships with students, provide encouragement during challenging moments and help create pathways to long-term success.

The Role

  • Delivering one-to-one and small group support
  • Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
  • Encouraging emotional resilience and self-confidence
  • Helping students overcome barriers to learning
  • Supporting behaviour and engagement strategies
  • Working alongside teaching, pastoral and SEND teams

About You

  • Experience supporting children or young people
  • Strong rapport-building skills
  • Patient, positive and resilient nature
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Passion for helping young people succeed
