We are seeking a dedicated SEND Support Assistant to join our committed team at a specialist SEND school. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and develop life skills.
As a SEND Support Assistant, you will:
Work under the guidance of teaching staff and therapists to support pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, speech and language needs, SEMH, physical disabilities, and complex learning difficulties.
Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning and care plans.
Support pupils with communication, sensory regulation, personal care, and engagement in learning activities.
Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Be an essential part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on the wellbeing and progress of each pupil.
Experience in:
SEND support or mainstream classroom assistant roles
Youth work, social care, early years, or mental health support
Residential care, nursing, or community outreach work
Supporting children or adults with high needs or disabilities
Transferable Job Titles May Include:

Nursery Nurse / Early Years Practitioner

Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of each pupil
Desirable but not essential:
Experience in a SEND or education setting
Knowledge of Makaton, PECs, or other communication aids
Training in Team Teach, Moving & Handling, or personal care support
A supportive and collaborative working environment
Ongoing CPD and training opportunities
