Support Staff – SEMH Support (Schools)

Have you worked in care, youth work, coaching, hospitality, support work, retail leadership or similar roles?

The skills you’ve already developed — communication, behaviour management, teamwork and relationship building — are highly transferable to supporting children with SEMH needs in an educational setting.

We are recruiting Support Staff to work 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils engage with learning, regulate emotions and build confidence within school environments.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support the class teacher while making a meaningful impact on young people who need extra guidance and consistency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

  • Build trusting relationships and encourage positive engagement

  • Support classroom learning under teacher direction

  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation

  • Promote independence, confidence and inclusion

  • Support pupils to access curriculum activities

  • Maintain a safe and structured learning environment


We Want To Hear From You If You Have Experience In:

  • Care / Support Work

  • Youth Work

  • Sports Coaching

  • Residential Support

  • Teaching Assistant roles

  • Hospitality Management / Team Leadership

  • Retail Management

  • Military / Emergency Services

  • Mentoring or Community Work


Role Details:

✅ 5 days per week – Term time only

✅ Daily rate: £90 – £100 (depending on experience)

✅ Temp-to-perm opportunities available

✅ Long-term placements with career progression potential
