Bexhill and surrounding areas
Looking for a role where your personality, attitude and life experience matter just as much as your CV?
We are recruiting Support Mentors to work within a secondary Alternative Provision school—a specialist setting that supports students who may have struggled in mainstream education. This could be due to behavioural challenges, SEMH needs, or barriers to learning. These schools provide smaller classes, more personalised support, and a strong focus on relationships, wellbeing and re-engagement in education.
This is not your typical classroom role—it’s about building trust, being a positive role model, and helping young people get back on track.
Work closely with students on a 1:1 and small group basis
Build strong, positive relationships to support engagement
Act as a mentor and role model for young people
Support students both in and out of the classroom
Help manage behaviour in a calm, consistent and supportive way
Encourage confidence, resilience and emotional regulation
Support re-engagement with learning and school routines
You do not need to have worked in education to be successful in this role.
If you’ve worked in roles where you’ve supported, guided or communicated with people—you likely already have the skills we’re looking for. We value transferable skills, personality and attitude just as much as experience.
