Teaching Assistant (All Key Stages)

A school in Hassocks is seeking a Teaching Assistant who can work flexibly across all key stages. You will support pupils with a variety of needs, including ASC and ADHD, both in 1:1 settings and in small groups as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who thrives on making a difference in pupils’ engagement, progress, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, adapting materials and teaching methods as required
Work across multiple key stages, collaborating with teachers to deliver consistent and effective support
Utilise knowledge of ASC and ADHD to help children manage their behaviour, access learning, and develop social skills
Maintain regular communication with the wider teaching team, sharing observations and progress updates
Uphold the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies, fostering a positive and inclusive environment

Essential Experience/Attributes:

Demonstrable experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with ASC and ADHD
Ability to adapt your approach to different age groups and learning styles
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A DBS check on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
Patient, flexible, and proactive, with a genuine passion for supporting children’s growth
